PRE-TREATMENT PROTOCOL:
All surface hair should be removed by shaving or snipping to prevent any damage to the skin. The laser emition is absorbed by the pigment present in the hair follicle. The SopranoXL focuses heat energy at the hair shaft, which then diffuses to the stem cell and matrix targets to damage the follicle while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.
Beyond the treatment protocol, it is important to understand hair growth cycles. Hair growth has three stages: Anagen (active stage), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting). The hair follicle should be affected by the laser during the anagen or active stage of hair growth. Approximately 10-25% of hair is in its active growing stage at any one time, therefore the requirement is for 6-8 laser hair removal treatments for best results.
